as the Fuel industry, we are committed to selecting projects that will assist in saving water as the main criteria. It is well stated in the Integrated Energy Plan as can be seen below. It is for this reason, amongst others,  that Sasol and PetroSA has not been able to pursue CTL ( Project Mafutha and Katlego respectively) in the Waterberg Area.  We as a sector also look into water saving, efficient use of water and assisting the municipalities in our area with Dams , water catchment and water purification. PetroSA has assisted with the dam in Mossel Bay and Desalination Plant in Voorbaai. Water used by our operation varies widely , depending largely on feedstock,  technology choices and the design of facility. Sasol is Part of the Vaal River Caatchment Committee.
